"Welcome to Saskatchewan!" You are cordially invited to participate in the 56th Annual Meeting of the Canadian Association of Geographers to be held on the campus of the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This is the centennial year for the University, and to celebrate this landmark CAG 2007 is jointly hosted by the Department of Geography and the Congress of the Canadian Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences (CFHSS). In addition, the Canadian Cartographic Association will be holding its annual meeting concurrently with the CAG, which will add another dimension to this year’s conference.

This will be an opportunity to showcase Geography, not only to the larger academic community, but also to the general public throughout the Prairies. The Congress has chosen Bridging Communities: making public knowledge – making knowledge public as its theme, and we hope that Geographers will take up that challenge. As always, we encourage presentations from across the entire range of contemporary geographic research.

We are looking forward to participation from across Canada and beyond. In particular, we are hoping that the CAG/AAG session on Transborder Issues will strengthen links with our neighbours to the south. Student contributions are particularly encouraged and we are planning to award $150 for the best student papers and posters in Human, Physical, and Technical Geography.

New information about the conference will be posted on this site as it becomes available – check back frequently.
